On February 5 and 6, 2016 Taekwon-do International held its annual Regional Black Belt Seminar and Annual Masters Seminar at Aliso Hills Taekwon-do in Aliso Viejo, California. This is the second year the seminars were held on the West Coast. It was a beautiful weekend for all of the traveling attendees to enjoy the warmer temperatures of Southern California. Friday evening kicked off with the Regional Black Belt Seminar where we had a great turn out with approximately 25 students ranging from 1st to 3rd Dan Black Belts attending the 5 hours seminar led by TKDI Chief Instructor Master John Meany. Master Meany was assisted by TKDI General Secretary Master James Marr, TKDI Director for Eastern US Master Tony Morris, Master Laura Giletti, Master Jessica Sabetian and TKDI Director for Western US Master Paul D’Ambrosio, owner of Aliso Hills Taekwon-do. A highlight of the evening was the arrival of Taekwon-do International Founder and President, Grand Master S.J. Kim, who was able to stop by and observe the Regional Seminar students after landing at the nearby airport. Saturday, the focus shifted to the Masters Seminar, a 6-hour intense study of traditional Taekwon-do, taught by Taekwon-do International President, Grand Master S.J. Kim. Master Paul D’Ambrosio summed up the Masters seminars by saying, “It is always great to have the opportunity to learn from my teacher and my seniors. I feel very fortunate to be surrounded by such amazing Taekwon-do practitioners, and it was an honor to host the seminars here in my school.”
The seminar is a special opportunity for the Master Instructors to receive priceless one-on-one training time to further their own personal martial arts practices. Thank you to everyone who made the trip out to California. Comments are closed.
