Oneonta Taekwon-Do in Oneonta, NY was very pleased to have Grandmaster Kim teach a class recently. In a class mixed with students ranging in age from 5 to 50, he led everyone through a warmup and basic techniques. Focusing on proper side kick technique, Grandmaster Kim had students first practice while holding the wall in order to isolate the positioning of the feet and hips. Next, students practiced lead leg side kicks over a chair to help students concentrate on proper chambering and returning the knee rather than dropping it.

The class was marked by tremendous energy. “Everyone was extremely pumped up to be training with Grandmaster Kim” said Master Ray Mannion, 4th dan. “He has a way of making sure every single person in class is learning and training at their peak levels.” Instructor Jennifer Butler echoed the sentiment by saying "Grandmaster Kim is so wonderful with the children. They loved him! It's always great to be in a class when he's instructing. He's an awesome instructor and would love to do this again!"

The energy from Grandmaster Kim’s visit was infectious and lasting. “The school is still buzzing. Our students are more engaged and excited than ever”, says Mannion.  Zachary Corbett, a 12 year old blue belt from Otego, NY said “it’s amazing to be able to train with someone with so much experience. It’s so cool to know that Grandmaster Kim learned from General Choi.”

“When Grandmaster Kim is teaching you the patterns, you know he has spent countless hours mastering them. He knows the purpose of every move and all of the transitions in between. You come away humbled because you realize how much more we need to practice to master them”, said Master Mannion.

Grandmaster Kim has traveled the world teaching Taekwon-Do to many schools and individuals and has been visiting all of the union schools this year.
